We Found Snakes In The Garden!
While I pulled the overgrown weeds from the veggie patch my young daughter busied herself digging in the freshly turned soil. Examining the odd leaf and stone she squealed with delight when she came across a snake.Â
Now some of you may be aware that New Zealand doesn’t have snakes, neither native or imported but according to my assistant gardener we had snakes in the veggie patch! Of course she got my immediate interest and very excitedly showed me her find.  There wriggling amongst the dirt were two of the longest, largest worms I have ever seen. I tried to explain the difference but she was not having it. They were snakes and that was that.

Miss those days when I had a 3000 sf lawn with all the flowering plants I use to plant> I sold the house some 10 yrs ago.

Oh I’m envious, a large garden would be just wonderful – only if I the time for it. Gardening really does use up alot of your spare time!!

hehe, know what you mean – they were the longest worms I have ever seen!
